The POSEIDON project is thrilled to announce significant advancements in its ongoing mission to combat corruption within European ports.
On Wednesday 20 March, the POSEIDON partners met in Spain to mark another important Study Visit to the Port of Cartagena. The visit results in another crucial step forward in raising awareness on the corruption phenomenon in the port sector as well as exchanging relevant information and good practices.
During the Study Visit, several representatives from Cartagena port authority came together to welcome the audience and present some general information about the Port facilities and operations. A bus tour through the different port areas followed the introduction session. Furthermore, the study visit has been enriched by some relevant insights on the main vulnerabilities and gaps as well as security measures in the port supply chain by both private and public port stakeholders, including Guardia Civil and Customs.
These insightful discussions shed light on the intricate challenges that demand immediate attention as well as necessary steps to mitigate corruption risks and enhance integrity and security of European ports.
The POSEIDON project again is proud to be at the forefront of these efforts and is committed to fostering collaboration among stakeholders to build robust systems that safeguard European ports against corruption.
